With nearly 20 years of experience leading the kitchens of cross-cultural fine-dining restaurants, Ali has cultivated a deep love for French, Indian, Middle-Eastern, Asian, and Continental cuisine.
Throughout his culinary career, he has been honored to learn from a team of groundbreaking restaurateurs and chefs, including luminaries like Stephen Starr, Danny Meyer, Buzzy O’Keeffe, Floyd Cardoz, Michael Schulson, David Waltuck, and Martin Heierling.
In addition to assisting in the opening of scores of high-profile restaurants and cafes across both U.S. coasts, Ali once served as chef of the CNN Grill at the 2016 RNC and DNC conventions, and he created and executed the exceptional dinner served for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.

Over the course of two decades, Ali has built a dynamic trans-continental career at some amazing culinary destinations—from Midtown East’s Pershing Square to Union Square’s Tabla and Chelsea’s Buddakan— across the globe to Pahlevi in Bombay, India. A graduate of the New York Restaurant School, Ali is known for infusing his trademark expertise and creativity into every dish he crafts, from initial prep to final presentation.
